Leak sealing: PU based resins

We’ve developed a broad range of PU based – or polyurethane based – injection resins, specifically designed for leak sealing in concrete structures.

Polyurethane-based injection resins, also known as PU resins, are designed to stop water. They react quickly upon contact with water and increase significantly in volume, creating a high foaming effect. This makes them ideally suited for sealing cracks in dams and bridges, waterproofing in civil engineering and tunnel construction.

One-component

One-component resins are ‘aqua-reactive’, they require water to trigger their reaction. The catalyst used to adjust the reaction times is an integral part of the resin system. One-component resins must be injected with a one-component pump. We can distinguish 2 types of one-component resins; hydrophilic and hydrophobic.

Hydrophilic means “water-loving” (hydro = water and philic = loving). These injection resins have an affinity for absorbing water.

Products

Hydrophobic means “water-fearing” (hydro = water and phobic = fearing). These injection resins repel water in a crack and do not dilute in water. They must be injected with a one-component pump.

Two-component

Our two-component injection resins consist of an A (a pre-set system of resin and hardener) and a B component and must be injected with a two-component pump. Our PU based resins are well-suited for effectively sealing strata that have high water content, and they can provide a reliable and long-lasting seal.
